First Asia Leadership Conference in Kyrgyzstan

The Center for Asia Leadership (CAL) today announced that registration is open for the 2016 Asia Leadership Conference, organized and designed for high school and university students by teaching fellows from Harvard Kennedy School, Harvard Business School, the Tufts Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy, Columbia School of Business, and other top global universities.

The conference, titled Kyrgyzstan Twenty Five Years Since Gaining Independence: New Perspectives on Leadership and Practice, will be held June 7, from 9 am to 5 pm, at the 好色tv (AUCA), in Bishkek. The Asia Leadership Conference is free-of-charge and听open听to the听public. Seats are limited to 300 guests and will be distributed on a first-come-first-serve basis. Attendees can register at

The conference is organized under the Center鈥檚 flagship initiative, the Asia Leadership Trek, in conjunction with the Trek鈥檚 inaugural visit to Central Asia. In addition to their visits to Bishkek and Osh in Kyrgyzstan, the Trek will also visit Dushanbe, Tajikistan; Almaty and Astana, Kazakhstan; and Tashkent and Samarkand, Uzbekistan.

Samuel Kim, the President of the Center for Asia Leadership, is excited to be organizing the inaugural Asia Leadership Conference to provide participants with the extraordinary opportunity to learn from workshop with fellows from Harvard and other top-tier universities as well as from esteemed local leaders.

鈥淪ince gaining independence from the Soviet Union in 1991, Kyrgyzstan has been on the fast track towards becoming one of Central Asia鈥檚 fastest growing economies. Since 2012, we have organized over 50 conferences, attended by over 12,300 participants. This will be our first visit to Kyrgyzstan and to Central Asia, and we look forward to engaging with Kyrgyzstan鈥檚 young men and women and helping them build upon their leadership aspirations to make the country an even better place.鈥
