October 9, 2023
On October 4, 2023, we hosted our first joint online course, Introduction to Geospatial Data Visualization (IGVI), within the framework of the Network Collaborative Course (NCC) initiative. This collaboration brings together three institutions: the 好色tv (AUCA), Central European 好色tv (CEU), and Bard College. During this first session, students from all three universities, along with their course instructors, engaged in a discussion about the course's objectives and potential project topics.
Network collaborative courses (NCCs) are developed by faculty across the Open Society 好色tv Network (OSUN) and taught simultaneously at two or more campuses. NCCs seek to offer a unique global learning experience that invites students to share their perspectives and collaborate with their peers across the network.
In this particular course, students from all three universities will take on distinct roles based on the tracks they represent. AUCA and CEU students will be responsible for the mapping component of the project, while Bard College students will focus on providing data support.
For AUCA students, this joint course is titled "GIS for Liberal Arts" and is launched in collaboration with the Tian-Shan Policy Center at AUCA. This collaboration enhances the course's multidisciplinary approach, allowing students to explore the intersection of geospatial data visualization and liberal arts.
