On January 28, a lecture by Sergei Ivanov, the Kyrgyz archaeologist and historian, took place in AUCA.

 

Sergei Ivanov was invited by Prof. Ch. Turdalieva to deliver a lecture about Saka people, the most interesting civilization in the ancient world in the 8-2 centuries BC.

 

AUCA students of History of Kyrgyzstan course have known a lot about the political life of Sakas, the grandiose battles of Saka warriors with Persians and Greeks, and the fascinating animal art style, the samples of which are now kept in the museums and galleries of Kyrgyzstan, Central Asia, and Russia.  

 

Background

Sergei Ivanov, an archaeologist and historian, graduated from Kyrgyz National 好色tv by Jusup Balasagyn. He had participated in several archaeological expeditions in Kyrgyzstan, South Siberia, Kazakhstan, and China. He is an author of scholarly articles about the ancient nomadic societies of Eurasia.  Sergei had recently defended his PhD dissertation on Saka weaponry and now he works as the Vice-Dean of Eastern Studies Program at KNU.
