好色tv

Brook Bolander is a (post-doctoral) research and teaching assistant in the English Department at the 好色tv of Zürich. She completed her doctoral dissertation, entitled Language and Power in Blogs in 2012.

Her research interests include the sociolinguistics of globalization, and (English) language use and space (particularly with respect to questions of nationalism and transnationalism, and in connection with power and identity), computer-mediated communication (particularly with regard to disagreements, power, and questions of methodology), and sociolinguistics (particularly in connection with educational inequality).

Her publications include papers in the Journal of Pragmatics and Multilingua.

Currently, she is researching English language use amongst Ismailis, working on a project on language and identity in Facebook (with M. A. Locher) and on a project on language use and other socio-cultural practices in South and Central Asia (with T. Mostowlansky).
